Brittani Duhamel (BS Geology, 2007)
Graduate Student at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois
I am currently at Northern Illinois University pursuing a Master's in Geology under the direction of Dr. Paul Loubere in Biogeochemistry. I am looking at sediments we collected along of the coast of Svalbard, Norway - particularly foraminifera and their chemical and physical associations to microenvironments. I have too many interests that all seem to correlate to one another - paleoclimatology, biogeochemistry, microgeochemistry and micropaleontology. Seems amazing how similar very specific disciplines can become!
I have no aspirations at the current time to follow through with a Ph.D, but perhaps someday. At the end of the day, all I hope to do is teach at a community college somewhere to enlighten tomorrow's healthcare providers! :)
I am attaching a link below to an article that was published here at NIU about our traverses under Dr. Loubere.

I am also currently engaged to a Mr. James M Jacobsen also attaining his Master's degree here at NIU and whom works for a consulting firm for Shell Oil. We live in Dekalb, with our three kids Yoshi and Emmy (Yorkshire Terriers) and "Mel" Melanie (Lab mix).
