Jason Thompson (BS Enivronmental Geology, 2008)
Mediocre Job Staffer in Bellingham, Washington
Jason currently works a mediocre job to float him through the recessional tsunami. He is eagerly awaiting the new administration's "New Deal"-like programs, which will create many government and peripheral jobs for him to get his foot in the door. An update will then follow so that he may compete in everyone's job-coolness.
Jason married his best friend, Heather, in September 2008. Heather works an administrative position for the local commuter bus service. She is also a part-time community college student and Jason, hungry still for the college environment, actually attends many of her classes and helps with her essays.
Jason appreciates his CWU experience and thinks Ellensburg was actually a pretty nice town to live in. There were classes he enjoyed and some he didn't enjoy that much, but that's okay because that's how he learns what he likes. He is grateful that he took Nick Zentner's advice and started his CWU education with the Bishop trip. "After Bishop, people generally either love or hate geology." So right he was. Jason was in the former category, and knew right from the start that he was in the right major. If he had to pick a single best on-campus class at CWU, it would be Dr. Ferland's stratigraphy class in 2006. Take it and be prepared for a very rewarding and very challenging class.
Thanks to everyone in CWU Geology for making Jason's years at Central so awesome.
