Recipients of the Robert D. Bentley Scholarship

A lead gift from Michael and Jeannette Walen of Houston, Texas established the Robert D. Bentley Scholarship to benefit geology majors at Central Washington University.

The scholarship funds one academic year of in-state tuition and fees to an undergraduate major in the Department of Geological Sciences with an interest in structural geology, field geology and/or natural resource geology.

Applications will be reviewed during winter quarter for an award in the subsequent academic year. More Information...

2017 Awardee

CWU Geology major Daniel Mongovin has been selected as the 2017 winner of the Robert D. Bentley Scholarship. Congratulations Dan!

Dan graduated from Olympia High School in the class of 2014. He had no idea that he would want to become a Geology major, but was hooked after he took his first Geology class. After graduation, Dan plans on pursuing a graduate and doctoral degree in the area of structural and field geology.
