GPS Geodesy

VLBI - Very Long Baseline Interferometry

SLR - Satellite Laser Ranging geodesy

  • Most of the information here comes from the Space Geodesy and Altimetry Projects Office (SGAPO) which operates and maintains the NASA Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) network, which tracks orbiting satellites with subcentimeter accuracy.
  • The data supports maintenance of a centimenter accuracy global terrestrial reference frame and international science programs in plate tectonics, regional crustal deformation near plate boundaries, gravity field research, mean sea level.
