National Soil Survey Center
This link goes to the National Soil Survey Cente. Here are guides to the current U.S. soil classification system. The site contains helpful information about various kinds of soils, soil classification units, etc. Access to a national soils database soils database. Links to the Global Change Program of the NRCS.

Soil Science Society of America
The SSSA is the professional society for soil scientists in North America.

USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service
The NRCS is part of the Department of Agriculture. It used to be the Soil Conservation Service (SCS). NRCS publishes soil surveys of agricultural areas of the U.S. Links from the NRCS page should get you to any digitized soils information produced by the U. S. government.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Soils Division
This site has some more general information on soils projects at the NRCS.

United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
