Alexandra Ruiz (MS Geology, 2016)

After I finished my thesis in the summer of '16 I moved back home to southern California and I'm currently a Staff Geologist at AECOM in Long Beach. The majority of the projects I work on involve environmental remediation.

Working with a large consulting company has been a good starting point because there's always work to do on complex and interesting projects past the "Phase 1" stage. I'm always open to new opportunities and at some point I'd like to give the government sector a shot.
