Daphanee Bullen Waters (BS Geology, 2007)

Environmental Geologist in Tampa, Florida

I am currently working as a project manager for Applied Science and Engineering, an environmental consulting company in Florida. My boss flew me in for an interview and the rest as they say is history. I am fortunate to be part of a growing company with a great boss. Some of my duties include writing and preparing reports and proposals, coordinating field activities to be done, interpreting field data, and Phase I environmental site assessments. I also do field work which includes performing soil and groundwater sampling during closure assessments, investigations, site assessments, and remediation. I also determine groundwater flow directions, oversee monitoring well installations, and surveying.

I recently got accepted into The University of South Florida's Geology Masters program. I am really excited about this new opportunity and plan on continuing working full-time.

I got married in June 2009 to my wonderful husband, John. He and I are settled here in Florida now. I miss Washington though; the CWU Geology Department was the best college experience I think I could have had. I still keep in touch with several people from my class; they are some of my best friends. I am so lucky to have been a part of the major. Good luck to all of the newcomers, I hope your experience is as good as mine was!
