Rebeca Becerra (BS in Geology, 2016; MS in Geology, 2018)

Graduate Student in Ellensburg, Washington

Before graduating from Central Washington University, I learned that I got accepted into the Master's degree program here as well and had to make a decision to continue my education or look into a career. I believe Central prepared me for both options, but I decided to accept a graduate position to work under one of the 210 professors, Bre MacInnes. I enjoyed my time at Central so much, that I decided to stay and advance my education here.

If you are considering a geology degree here, I would highly recommend it (as an undergrad or as a grad student)! Looking back at all the field trips we did and good times at field camp (and the infamous Senior Field experience) I only have good things to say about the department. The skills I have learned from my CWU geology experience (especially taking quality field notes that others can read) are some of the things I still use on a daily basis as a graduate student. The field and classroom experiences were unlike any other, and I bet you will have a great time as well. Good luck and listen to the advice of your professors!
