Ana Aguiar (MS Geology, 2008)
Graduate Student in Palo Alto, California
I am currently working on a PhD in Geophysics at Stanford University. I am looking at seismic data near the Calaveras fault in California, to analyze tectonic tremor that has been triggered by large teleseisms such as the Denali 2002 Mw 7.9 earthquake. This is a very new and exiting research topic, and there is a lot of work to be done!
The few years I spent at CWU Geology are some of the most important in my life. The research and experience I got there helped me find my path - and got me to where I am now. Another important thing that happened during my time at Central is that I met the person I will spend the rest of my life with. Brian Gray (MS '08) and I got married on August 22, 2009 and we are very happy with our new life here in the Bay Area.
I do miss Ellensburg dearly and hope to return someday!
