I'm a Program Manager with Partner alliances and device certification in Redmond.

I no longer work in geology, but carry forward many of the lessons learned. In fact my current role requires me to set up a device test lab to measure acoustic and image quality for cameras and headsets/speakerphones and other devices to use with Skype - the precision in setup and test method required here is much more like laboratory science work than software engineering so I used all that I could remember from my time working on Dr. Gazis' oxygen extraction line in grad school for how to have repeatable measurements.

And now that I have a little one, I get to talk about geology again as one of my daugher's favorite things to talk about is Volcanoes!
