Michael Harris (BA Earth Science, 2002)
Middle School Science Teacher in Tacoma, Washington
I am currently in my 14th year of teaching at Curtis Junior High in the University Place School District. I teach 8th grade honors geology, coach the 8th grade baseball team and serve as the school's athletic director. Since graduating from CWU with my bachelor's degree in earth science, I have also earned my master's degree in secondary science education.
Besides teaching, I have been married to my wife, Devon, for 10 years. We bought a house in the Tacoma area, close to family, and have a 4-year old daughter, Peyton, 19-month old son, Taylor, and a 6-year old Boston terrier named Mugsy (our first born). As a family, we enjoy going to the beach, playing and watching sports and visiting with friends and family.
