Travis Hammond (BS Geology, 2007; MS Geology, 2009)

Since finishing up at CWU with my Masters, I have been employed as a hydrogeologist with GSI Water Solutions in our Kennewick, WA office since October 2009. I am a consultant and my job entails all aspects of site hydrogeologic characterization to include field work, borehole geologic logging, groundwater sampling, data conditioning and analysis and report writing.

I also work on regional scale projects that use both publicly available information and data generated specifically for certain projects in order to understand regional aquifer system recharge, flow patterns and groundwater sustainability. Other work includes drilling and construction oversight for large municipal and industrial production wells and designing and implementation of groundwater quality monitoring programs.

I have used my knowledge of aqueous geochemistry that I obtained from my studies at CWU Geology extensively in my job and thus my education there has been invaluable.

For fun I am an avid outdoorsman who enjoys skiing by winter and fly fishing and climbing by summer. However, family time with my wife and son is my favorite pastime.
