Rachelle Sanchez (BS Geology, 2019)

I got accepted into a PhD program at Miami University of Ohio working with Dr. Elisabeth Widom on the timescales and processes associated Xitle volcano in Mexico as well as the origins of the andesite lavas in the Sierra Chichinautzin volcanic field. I have recieved the Lipman Research Award in 2020. I also am wrapping up my undergraduate research with Dr. Wendy Bohrson on the 1915 magma mixing even at Lassen Peak, California.

I miss the great Pacific Northwest and the amazing geology it has to offer.
