Brett Shurtleff receives a NAGT/USGS Internship

Congratulations to Brett Shurtleff, who has been accepted into the NAGT-USGS internship program. This program is 45 years old and is the longest running internship program in the earth sciences. The top student from our summer field geology course (G489) is eligible to apply for this internship. Brett was the top student in the 2009 summer field course.

Brett will work with USGS scientists Dr. William Schulz and Dr. Rex Baum mapping active landslides in southwest Colorado and the central Oregon Coast. This team will use GPS instruments and LIDAR data for surficial mapping of landslides and for monitoring slide motion.
